Why am I receiving multiple statements from my medical visit?

We partner with physician groups that may bill separately for their services. These may include anesthesia services, lab pathology, radiology, and emergency physicians.

Are my child's charges on my bill?

Our billing statements only include a single patient which means you will receive separate statements for you and your child.

How do I pay a bill if my MyChart enrollment is not complete?

You can either complete your MyChart enrollment or you can pay as a guest on MyChart. There are many benefits of having a MyChart account so we encourage you to set up your account as soon as you are able. If you have questions about your bill, you can call the number listed on your statement or you can send a message through MyChart by following these steps:

  • Click "Message" in the left panel.
  • Click "Send a message."
  • Select "Customer Service Question."
  • Click "General Billing."
Can I see my previous bills in MyChart?

I have a bill pay service and the payments are being applied to my spouse's account.

Each payment needs to reference the specific account number that the funds are being applied to. If you are using the same account to pay both you and your spouse's bills, those account numbers need to be changed to match the account number that is being paid. When you continue automatic payments for both of you, the payments will be taken out separately.

Why is it taking a long time for my bill pay service payment to show up on my account?

Bill pay services may take up to three weeks from the time the check is dated to the time the funds are received by Spectrum Health.

How do I get a price estimate?

For a general estimate, you can visit MyChart. You'll need the procedure name and the location. Prices vary by location, so for a more accurate estimate you can talk to a Price Specialist at 866.542.7909, who will help find the location that makes the most sense for you. Keep in mind that these are estimates rather than exact costs.

How much will my insurance pay?

Every plan is different so we recommend that you reach out to your insurance provider directly if you have questions about your unique coverage including things like deductible and copay.

How are the prices established?

We're committed to making health care affordable and accessible for everyone, so we consider many factors when establishing cost such as:

  • The cost of providing staff, equipment, facilities, medications and other supplies
  • The amount of time our facilities and staff are involved in providing services
  • Information provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency that manages the Medicare and Medicaid program.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Prices vary by location and they are usually less when there is an outpatient option.
  • Prices are revised each year and are subject to change during the year.
  • Prices should not prevent you from getting the care you need, so we have multiple options to help with affordability.

Why is my bill more than the estimate I received?

An estimate is what we anticipate a bill will be rather than an exact cost. One of the most common reasons a cost is different is because prices vary by location. If you have questions about your bill, we will find an answer. You can reach a Billing Specialist at 866.261.4563.
