Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization ClassesOverview Helen DeVos Children's Hospital is pleased to provide the Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) course.
This American Heart Association (AHA) course supports health care providers who:
- Do not provide advanced pediatric life support regularly
- Are not credentialed for advanced pediatric treatment
Using video-based simulation, the PEARS course helps participants recognize the signs and symptoms of a child who is in cardiopulmonary distress and needs immediate support. The main focus of PEARS is prevention, specifically the assessment, recognition and stabilization of pediatric patients at risk of severe cardiopulmonary distress.
Location Course sessions are held at the Spectrum Health Center for Nursing Practice and Development, 221 Michigan Street NE, Suite 100, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Parking information will be sent with pre-course materials.
Schedule Class is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; registration is from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
