We also work closely with our specialized audiology team to identify and treat hearing-related conditions in children from newborn to teens.
The otology/neurotology program at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital treats children with conductive and sensori-neural hearing losses, balance and facial nerve disorders. We also perform surgery for:
- Treatment of chronic ear disease
- Ossicular reconstruction and cochlear implantation
- Reconstruction of congenital aural atresia
Cochlear implant services utilizing the skills of a surgeon, audiologist and speech therapist are available to pediatric patients . Implants are programmed and maintained to adjust to the specific needs of each patient. Our team works closely with the schools for the hearing impaired in West Michigan.
