Blood & Bone Marrow TransplantThe blood and bone marrow transplantation program at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is the region’s only pediatric blood and bone marrow transplantation program. We provide potentially life-saving marrow, peripheral blood and umbilical cord blood transplants.
Our inpatient unit features seven private rooms that are HEPA filtered and isolated to help prevent infection.
Diagnoses treated with blood and bone marrow transplantations include but are not limited to:
- Anemia
- Severe aplastic anemia
- Sideroblastic anemia
- Fanconi anemia
- Myelodysplasia
- Histiocytosis
- Metabolic disorders
- Krabbe disease
- Fucosidosis
- Adrenoleukodystrophy(ALD)
- Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD)
- Hurler’s syndrome
